How do we work with this energy?
Aquarius:
This constellation is associated with many different myths and legends around the world.
According to one legend in Greek mythology, Zeus was angered by humanity and decided to destroy them all with a great flood. He sent out his son, Aquarius, as a water bearer to pour all of the waters from the heavens onto the Earth which destroys most of humanity. Deucalion and Pyrrha were spared because they were righteous people. Deucalion then threw stones over his shoulder to create a new race of man, while his wife Pyrrha created women by throwing stones behind her back. (This story may elude to the changing of culture and a new paradigm. “Age of Aquarius”)
Another legend depicts Ganymede, the water-bearer who pours out blessings onto humanity. In this myth, Zeus spots Ganymede from Olympus and decides that he wants him for his own. He sends an eagle to capture the young boy and carry him into Olympus. There, he became one of Zeus’ favourites, serving him wine at all times in a golden cup.
An Aquarius full moon is a time to advocate for social justice and collective progress. Its energy asks us to embrace unconventional ideas and perspectives and free ourselves from fear of judgement or conformity. It shines a spotlight on collaboration and community as we work together towards creating positive change in society. The energy of Aquarius is associated with equality and inclusivity as we advocate for the rights and well-being of all people.
Aquarius is connected to the element of air, representing the qualities of cleverness and originality. When considering the essence of Aquarius, picture the independent thinkers who march to the beat of their own drum. There is a deep need for authenticity at this time and with this can come tension between freedom and belonging.

Sturgeon Moon:
The name for this moon comes from the giant lake sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain. This native freshwater fish was readily caught during this part of the summer and an important food staple for people in the region. Lake sturgeon is rarer today as they require around 20 years to start reproducing and can only reproduce every four years.
